✨ ABOUT ME…
Hey Friend! I'm Samantha-a Christian wife, mama of 5, & homeschooling mama. I've also found a love for sourdough & it may or may not have become one of my biggest hobbies. Other things I enjoy are singing, reading, working out, & taking trips with my family.
My journey to birth work started as a seed after my AH-MAZING homebirth with my third baby in 2017. I tossed around the idea of midwifery, but never pursued it. I went on to have my 4th & 5th baby, with my last ending with a great deal of trauma.
I had planned for a homebirth with a midwife & was transferred out of midwife care at 37 weeks because my baby was breech. I had an ECV, but that failed at turning my baby head down. My first meeting with the OB felt very cold. Because of Covid precautions, I attended this appointment alone & was feeling lots of emotions. Due to high blood pressure, they scheduled me for a cesarean that afternoon.
5 days postpartum, I ended up readmitted back to the hospital for Postpartum Preeclampsia. This is where my trauma really kicks in. The hospital staff had me convinced that I was going to die & they stuck with this fear tactic the whole 2 days I was there. No compassion. Only fear in the hopes I would comply to their every suggestion.
After taking the necessary steps to heal from the trauma of this last birth, I started praying for a way of turning that darkness into light, which led me to the field of doula work! I never want someone to feel the way I was left to feel. You shouldn't be left feeling unsupported, or worse, feeling like you'll never see your baby or family again. My goal is to equip you with the knowledge, tools, & choices you need to navigate your birth.

While I'm professionally trained & certified as a full-spectrum doula, my passion aligns most with homebirth settings. Though I do support all kinds of birth. My goal as a doula is to offer all the information I can to help parents make the best decision for themselves and support them in that decision. Every birth is unique, and I want to meet my clients where they're at.
There is a special place in my heart for single mothers, teen mothers, those who have experienced miscarriage, and those who are processing a less-than-ideal birth experience.
